Words are the most powerful tool a human possesses. They can build up, reinforce, inspire, warm the heart, soothe the soul, heal the mind, resurrect the spirit and they are so necessary for the continuance of mankind. Words are the also the most powerful weapon in man's arsenal. They can degrade, wear away, discourage, tear down, hurt the heart, agitate the soul and sicken the mind and to kill the spirit. It all depends on how we use our words, these words. Will I use it as a tool or a weapon?
Should I use my words indiscriminately in the name of Truth, and in justification, "The Truth will Set you Free"? Does it matter that I think "so and so" is a poor parent? Or that "so and so" has ulterior motives"? What matters most....what they are doing or what I am doing?
Let's look at an example. A man was accused of sedition. He was a righteous man who wanted to better the world and wanted the truth to set people free. He talked to the people and encouraged the people to no longer accept the status quo but to strive for the righteous path. He spoke the truth, used His words as a tool to warm the heart, soothe the soul, heal the mind and to further the continuance of mankind. He also used his words to degrade the status quo, wear down the complacent, discourage the continuance of sin, tear down the hypocrisy, but never.....NEVER to hurt the heart or to sicken the mind. He agitated the soul, making what was once acceptable, considered acceptable, embraced as acceptable, no longer acceptable. It was no longer acceptable to stone the adulterous, exclude the Tax Collector, shun the sick and dying, condemn the sinner. He showed that I am a sinner and that I do not have the right to judge another's actions or motives for I sin and fall short of the Glory of God. He showed that my sins and my righteous deeds are as dirty rags and that I do not have the ability to come onto the Father but through Him.
When given the chance to defend himself, to speak out to save himself, to justify his words and teachings, he chose silence. One word from him as to his true motives and how they weren't as they appeared and what was being said about him met silence. Who had more right to justify his actions then Jesus The Messiah? Who had more right to say the things that he did than the Word that was made man? No blog here.
Why do I think it right to speak on the faults of others? Why are my prayers for those that need Him less frequent than my words of condemnation? How do I break free from this cycle of repentance and sin and repentance and sin......?
